EXPECTATION FOR ALL EMPLOYEES Support the organization’s mission, vision and values by adhering to the behavioral standards of Bay Area Hospital. Comply with all laws and regulations affecting Bay Area Hospital. Be familiar with and adhere to the Code of Conduct and support the Bay Area Hospital Compliance Program. Effective communication skills and the ability work effectively with people from various backgrounds are critical. POSITION SUMMARY Supports and maintains computer systems and peripherals by installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Determines software and hardware requirements to provide solutions to problems • Responds to queries on software and hardware problems • Installs and downloads appropriate software • Adapts existing programs to meet users' requirements • Ensures efficient use of applications and equipment • Repairs and replaces peripheral equipment such as terminals, printer and modems • Helps maintain highest standards of network accessibility, security, and resilience; helps maintain data confidentiality and data backups; maintains vigilant compliance with HIPAA guidelines and industry best practices • Performs system setups and installations. Installs software/hardware into new/legacy systems. Creates, maintains and documents PC systems. Creates images of new or rebuilt systems before deployment to users • Provides ongoing PC peripheral support (installation, repair and maintenance and documentation of all devices including printers, scanners, bar code readers, addressographs etc) • Provides ongoing communication equipment support (installation, repair, maintenance, updating and documentation thereof of communication devices including phones, fax machines, modems, etc) • Assists in design of new computer and communication system features as needed • Troubleshoots problems with installed and new systems • Works with vendors as necessary for the selection, implementation and ongoing support of all computer and communications equipment • Assists in the addition and maintenance of the physical data structure/infrastructure (data/phone wiring, maintaining data switches, routers etc.) • Works with System Administrator and Network Administrator to understand various complexities of job/hospital • Performs other duties as assigned 15-1232.00
