EXPECTATION FOR ALL EMPLOYEES

POSITION SUMMARY

Supports and maintains computer systems and peripherals by installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determines software and hardware requirements to provide solutions to problems

• Responds to queries on software and hardware problems

• Installs and downloads appropriate software

• Adapts existing programs to meet users' requirements

• Ensures efficient use of applications and equipment

• Repairs and replaces peripheral equipment such as terminals, printer and modems

• Helps maintain highest standards of network accessibility, security, and resilience; helps maintain data confidentiality and data backups; maintains vigilant compliance with HIPAA guidelines and industry best practices

• Performs system setups and installations. Installs software/hardware into new/legacy systems. Creates, maintains and documents PC systems. Creates images of new or rebuilt systems before deployment to users

• Provides ongoing PC peripheral support  (installation, repair and maintenance and documentation of all devices including printers, scanners, bar code readers, addressographs etc)

• Provides ongoing communication equipment support  (installation, repair, maintenance, updating and documentation thereof of communication devices including phones, fax machines, modems, etc)

• Assists in design of new computer and communication system features as needed

• Troubleshoots problems with installed and new systems

• Works with vendors as necessary for the selection, implementation and ongoing support of all computer and communications equipment

• Assists in the addition and maintenance of the physical data structure/infrastructure (data/phone wiring, maintaining data switches, routers etc.)

• Works with  System Administrator and Network Administrator to understand various complexities of job/hospital

• Performs other duties as assigned
