Description

Position is for local coos county youth to discover the rewarding aspect of helping the citizens in our community during their darkest hours. Interns will be provided with training to ensure they remain safe as well as taught the skills necessary to work in a high stress and sometimes fast paced environment. 

  • Assist with first aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured persons in prehospital settings.
  • Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
  • Attend training classes to maintain certification licensure, keep abreast of new developments in the field, or maintain existing knowledge.
  • Comfort and reassure patients.
  • Communicate with dispatchers or treatment center personnel to provide information about situation, to arrange reception of victims, or to receive instructions for further treatment.
Educational Aspect

THe student will recieve CPR training for the care provider, HIPPA, HAZMAT, Blood Bourne Pathogens as well as didactic portion of CEVO (certidfied emergency vehicle operator, The intern will not be allowed to operate company equipment). Active listening-students will gain multilevels of how to interact with coworkers and patients to grow in a learning environment.

Generally must be able to ambulate on uneven terrain and if incliment weather. Will need to lift in a team setting as needed.
