Description

Coos Head Food Co-op Intern will assist the Outreach Department with cultivating content for our monthly newsletters, calendars, and all social media platforms, including website maintenance. Assist with community philanthropy while strengthening ties to community and local organizations. Learn how to communicate the importance of consumer cooperatives in our community. Become familiar with the seven principles of cooperatives and how to implement said principles through event planning, on-site promotions and working with local producers, small business owners and the community at large. Learn how to build branding material, marketing, and assist with overseeing public relations for a food cooperative.

Educational Aspect

Work experience in public relations, community outreach, health & well-being education, online and in-person promotions

Will tailor duties to include additional tasks to align with needed school credits (reading, math, research) on an individual basis

Introduction work ready skills including interpersonal communication, on the job safety, and professionalism
