Description |
Perform general reception duties such as greeting the public and answering inquiries, answering the phones and taking messages, providing visitor information, and other basic duties. Assist library patrons in the use of the library system, Internet, photocopier, fax, and other equipment. Processes books, audio, and video materials for shelf readiness. Perform simple book repair. Retrieves and shelves books, videos, and other library materials. Keeping books and other items in order in the public areas of the library. Provides circulation and reference services to patrons. Supports overall library operations and services. Dust bookshelves, computers, cobwebs with duster or disinfectant wipes. Lightly dust for books and videos. Wipe down desks, tables and chairs. Sweep floors, mop floors, vacuum floors. Wipe down mirrors, glass doors, windows with Windex or disinfectant wipes. Clean and sanitize bathrooms per COVID guidelines (toilets, sinks, doorknobs) with disinfectant wipes. or bleach. Refill soap dispensers, restock toilet paper and paper towels when cleaning. Take trash out on Mondays or as needed. Replace trash liners. Assist with the Summer Reading Program. Assist and serve lunches to children 18 or younger, Monday through Friday, leading the program on Tues and Thurs. Assist with preparing for events. Possibly help with STEM or other programs if grants are received. Organize storage shed. |
