Read plans, instructions, or specifications lo determine work activities. 
Use hammer. tape measure, and wood cutting tools. 
Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. Clean or prepare constructlon sites to eliminate possible hazards. 
Load, unload. or identify building materials, mach!Mry, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according lo project plans or specifications. 
Position, join, al!g11, or seal structural components. 
Perform building weatherlzation tasks for windows, adding insulation, or applying weather-stripping materials. Apply caulking compounds by hand or caulking guns to protect against entry of water or air. 
Cover surfaces with dropcloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. 
Smooth suriaces. using sandpaper. scrapers. brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines. 
App!y primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats. 
Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes la equipment, buildings, bridges, or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
