Description |
Greet patrons in a friendly and positive manner. Perform circulation related functions using the library's integrated library system (ILS) software including checking out, renewing, searching for items and placing holds. Assist patrons in using the online catalog and other electronic tools and resources; assists and instructs patrons in using library services, equipment and facilities. Checks in returned library materials using the ILS and routes items to the proper library. Generates hold paging slips and retrieves items from library shelves. Prepares library materials for circulation and assists librarian staff in collection management tasks. Contributes to a positive work environment by demonstrating: compassion for the library's users and other employees; respect for library user privacy and confidentiality; an eagerness to learn and an optimistic attitude. Attends meetings and training opportunities as required. Creates displays to enhance the library experience and to promote use of library resources. May assist with public programs. |
